ABSTRACT

Antithyroid drugs, potassium iodur, beta blokers and corticosteroids are generally enough for thyrotoxic patients to make them euthyroid. These treatment methods are sometimes insufficent to render these patients euthyroid. In these cases, therapeutic plasmapheresis can be an alternative way of treatment. In this case report, we aimed to discuss the anaphylactic reaction in a pregnant patient during therapeutic plasmapheresis and the interventions for surgery after anaphylactic reaction.

Keywords: Plasmapheresis, anaphylactic reaction, thyrotoxicosis, albumin
