Abstract
Propofol Infusion Syndrome (PRIS) is a fatal clinical manifestation that is considered to be associated with usage of long time and high doses of propofol infusions. PRIS is defined primarily in children but it is also proved that it may also be seen in adults. Most important features of the syndrome include severe metabolic acidosis, rhabdomyolisis, heart failure, and renal failure. In this review definition, pathophsiology, diagnosis and management of PRIS will be examined. (Journal of the Turkish Society Intensive Care 2011; 9: 116-9)
